Opposition parties seem to have upped the ante on Parliament protests over demonetisation. In a bid to increase the volume of their protests, more than 200 Members of Parliament belonging to over 12 different parties from across the country, will hold a massive protest outside the Parliament today.
Parties participating in the mega protest include the Trinamool Congress, Congress, the CPI(M), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and others. The details of the protest were decided upon during a meeting of the leaders from across the parties on Tuesday. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was amongst those present at the meeting.
According to plans that have come to the surface, the opposition parties have decided that the 200 odd Members of Parliament will gather in front of the Gandhi statue outside the Parliament and initiate the protest. This is the second time that a combination of parties is holding a protest in the wake of demonetisation.
